Dr. Jim Parry’s Background

Dr. Jim Parry is a highly skilled double board certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in the Cleveland area who specializes in cosmetic and reconstruction surgery of the face and neck. After graduating from Kent State University, Magna Cum Laude, he attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated in the top 5% of his medical school class and was elected to the prestigious Psi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Parry completed a five–year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at SUNY (State University of New York), Upstate Medical University, Syracuse New York. He went on to complete an additional one-year fellowship specializing in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the tutelage of internationally-renowned Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Calvin Johnson Jr. at Tulane Medical University & Hedgewood Surgical Center in New Orleans. It was under the guidance of Dr. Calvin Johnson that Dr. Parry mastered the renowned technique of the deep plane facelift. The deep plane facelift, unlike the standard SMAS (submusculoaponeurotic system) facelift performed by most plastic surgeons today allows for a more natural looking and long-lasting result by repositioning the underlying deep facial tissues, which results in less pulling of the skin.

Brigadier General (Dr.) Jim Parry’s Military Service

Dr. Parry continues to serve his country as a United States Air Force officer as the Air National Guard Assistant to Headquarters Air Force Medical Operations. During his 37-year distinguished career, he has served his country faithfully and honorably. He has deployed numerous times in support of multiple combat missions to include Kosovo, Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Brigadier General (Dr.) Parry has also deployed in support of several humanitarian missions to Sarajevo, Bosnia, as well as earthquake and hurricane recovery operations in Haiti. Brigadier General (Dr.) Parry has deployed to the Caribbean for humanitarian support of Hurricane Matthew recovery efforts. He has also deployed to Chad Africa on a humanitarian mission to bring medical care to people living in remote, austere environments. In 2020 while stationed in Kuwait, he flew 104 combat hours into Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and was awarded the Air Medal. In 2009, Dr. Parry was awarded the Valley Forge Certificate for Heroism for voluntary risk of life and heroic actions performed during a gang shooting on Mardi Gras Day, 2009 in New Orleans. Dr. Parry lives by very high standards to include the Air Force core values of “Integrity First”, “Service Before Self” and “Excellence in All We Do”.
